Care is delivered with continuity and attentiveness, ensuring residents feel supported and families remain informed.


Safety and security
A safe environment forms part of everyday life at Monte Rosa. Residents move through spaces designed with comfort and safety in mind, supported by secure access, thoughtful layouts, and clear routines that help prevent accidents and reduce risk. Also, security is in place 24 hours a day, with controlled access at the front entrance.
Independence and dignity
Life at Monte Rosa is guided by a person-centred approach that respects each resident’s individuality, choices, and privacy. Residents are encouraged to remain as independent as possible, with care tailored to personal needs and preferences.
Everyday interactions are handled with respect and sensitivity. Privacy is maintained during personal care, and residents are encouraged to personalise their living spaces with familiar belongings that reflect who they are.


Meals and daily rhythm
Meals are a regular and valued part of daily life at Monte Rosa. Residents enjoy three main meals each day, along with tea or coffee breaks during the day and snacks in the evening.
Mealtimes offer an opportunity to gather, enjoy familiar food, and spend time together in a relaxed and social setting.
Amenities
Residents have access to shared spaces and amenities that add comfort and convenience to daily life, including a library, a tuck shop, and a communal tea room with DSTV.
A hair salon operates on Tuesdays, allowing residents to enjoy this service on-site as part of their regular routine.


Activities and social life
Staying active and socially connected is encouraged at Monte Rosa. Most activities take place on weekday mornings and offer residents a variety of ways to participate.
Regular activities include bingo on Wednesdays, church services, and shopping trips to the garden centre on Thursdays. Special events are also organised, such as occupational therapy projects in the dementia ward, singalongs with visiting artists, short beach outings, visits from local schools, circus performances, and programmes hosted by organisations like the Lions and Rotary Clubs.
Less mobile residents are supported by staff to take part, using wheelchairs or walkers where needed.
Faith and spiritual care
Faith plays an important role in the holistic well-being of many residents. Formal church services are held on Thursdays, and residents are supported in practising their faith as part of daily life at Monte Rosa.


Transport
Transport is provided for residents to attend medical appointments and hospital visits, with return transport included. Shopping trips and outings are also arranged as part of the activity programme, making it easier for residents to attend to personal needs and enjoy time outside the home.
Housekeeping and laundry
Daily life at Monte Rosa is supported by housekeeping services that include the regular cleaning of residents’ rooms and shared spaces, helping to maintain a comfortable and welcoming environment.
Laundry services are provided seven days a week, ensuring clothing and linen are cared for consistently and hygienically.


Family and connection
Families are an important part of life at Monte Rosa. Visits are welcomed, and communication with families is handled with care and openness to ensure loved ones remain informed and involved.
